V1 SLS CARBON DIY KIT
The V1 SLS Carbon DIY Kit includes unique components produced using state-of-the-art SLS and MJF additive manufacturing technologies and most advanced materials available in the industry, together with special fasteners required to assemble a headphone, as well as acoustic treatment accessories.
Drivers and ear pads in a tried and tested combination are available as a DIY kit option at an extra cost, otherwise you have to source them on your own from recommended manufacturers.
V1 Parts (Manufactured in the UK and Italy):
As can be seen, the kit contains quite a lot of stuff, giving the buyers a lot of freedom to play around with various tuning options. Everything contained in this kit is a result of hundreds of hours of designing, prototyping, testing and experimenting, and I wouldn't include anything in the kit if I felt that it didn't belong in it, likewise I wouldn't exclude anything from the kit if I felt that it was important. Everything you need to fine-tune a sound to your liking, regardless of the drivers, ear pads or cables used, is included in the kit.
All of the 3D printed components will be carefully inspected, fully assembled and then disassembled again before being shipped, making sure that everything fits together as intended, and that the eventual building process will be fuss-free for the buyer. Threaded inserts will be preinstalled, and the decorative pieces glued onto the main components, and the headband slider mechanism assembled, since they're procedures that demand utmost accuracy and special adhesives, and are difficult to redo if messed up. All of the hardware provided is of the highest possible quality available and produced out of the highest grades of materials available at their dimensional specifications, meaning that they will endure multiple disassembly and assembly cycles. Quality and attention to detail are extremely important to me, therefore I want the contents of this kit to fully illustrate that.
The only tools required to assemble the kit are a screwdriver with Torx T6 and T8 bits, scissors or a scalpel, and a soldering iron.
* Because the diameters of drivers produced by various manufacturers may vary by a few microns between production runs, the baffle driver socket walls might sometimes require some sanding in order to achieve the right fit, therefore a custom 3D printed sanding block will be shipped in every kit to make that process as easy as possible. This is something out my control, as I can't guarantee a 3rd party will maintain an extreme level of dimensional consistency in all of their production runs. It's better to start off with an overly tight driver fit and easily fix it, than to start off with an overly loose fit of the driver and not have a way to fix it without sacrificing the performance. Most people won't have to use the sanding block at all, but it's still a beautifully designed piece, so it can be kept as a small decorative item.
